Is it really June already? The miniature show is coming up faster than you think so I hope all of you have started your painting for this year. This year there have been quite a few changes. The Fresno Art Hub will be hosting the show this year. Many thanks to our gracious hostess Diane Breuer. Creating a “president’s Message” can be difficult; either I have so much to say that I can’t fit it all in, or I struggle with finding something relevant to say! July was a hard month for our members. We had a fabulous Old West Show this year! Thank you’s go out to all of our members (and members husbands!) who stepped in to help. We had over 34 Old West entries! And a show Total of 84, which is a big improvement over the last show. We had enough entries to fill all our categories except Sculpture/Mixed Media, which we had to combine with our next lowest entry category, drawing.  At shows, we do try to avoid combining categories if at all possible, but sometimes it is unavoidable. The Old West Show is coming up fast and we are going to need a lot of assistance from our members.  This year will be the 100^th year anniversary of the Rodeo and the Rodeo Association is going to begin sponsoring the prize for the 1^st place winner of the Old West category once again.  Another piece of good news is this year we are on the calendar the Rodeo Assoc. sent to the Fresno Bee. Although there will be no meeting in November, I hope you will all support the Fall art show by entering your art and coming out for the Reception on November 5. Well, summer is upon us. We have some really excellent programs coming up this summer so I hope all of you will brave the heat and join us.
